SOUKYA is an integrative health and holistic centre tucked away on the outskirts of Bengaluru founded by Issac Mathai. It offers ayurveda, naturopathy, yoga and homeopathy. Visitors receive health assessments from experienced doctors specialising in various medical fields. “ King Charles and I have a common belief when it comes to combining different streams of treatment, especially alternate medicines. He and I believe that India can help the world, leading it to finding more routes to healing of health problems like hypertension, osteoporosis and diabetes,” Mathai told Independent.
According to The Week, the royals love the food served at the centre and even pack some for their flight back home. Breakfast is usually south Indian food―dosa, appam with stew, and with an option of omelette and eggs benedict, according to the report.

“She does not miss even a session of morning yoga, and diligently attends all the treatments that we write down for her,” said Mathai. “They love the food to the extent that they are ready to bring down their royal chefs to India and train them – and have often expressed their wish to do so.”

Mathai said he doesn’t skirt protocol by asking for a photograph, but was taken by surprise when the King asked for a picture with some lit Indian lamps.
Mathai also attended Charles’ coronation on May 6, 2023. He told Moneycontrol that on their visit to SOUKYA in November last year, after the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, the royal couple wanted him to visit London.
“You and Suja (my wife) should come and attend some of the several functions that will be held for the coronation,” they casually told me. In fact, Queen Camilla insisted that my wife and I bring our children as well,” he told Moneycontrol. “Amid all the pageantry, my children were given a tour of Buckingham Palace. People have often asked me about Camilla. In the 18 years that I have known her, she has proved herself to be humble and duty-bound. She is also a great support to the King, and, I feel, about 90 per cent of the Britishers are supportive of her.”
